Welcome to one of the most charming, beautifully restored log cabins in Palo Colorado Canyon! Built in the early 1900s, this gorgeous home is steeped in the history of the areas early settlers and homesteaders. The current owners bought it in the early 1990's and have lovingly restored it. They raised the cabin onto a well-engineered concrete foundation, rebuilt the floors, upgraded the electrical, completely rebuilt the roof and framing, and drilled a high-producing well. All logs were hand sanded, stained, and sealed to restore their original luster. All work was done with plans, engineering, and permits, adding tremendous value. The original main-level bedroom walls were removed to create a large, open living space with a stunning floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace. The lower level has a separate entrance and could easily connect to the main level for more living space or a separate bedroom. An old carriage house serves as a workshop. Almost 2.5 acres with hundreds of huge redwoods! Palo Colorado Creek runs through the lower portion, feeling like a private mountain park. Peaceful, serene, and inviting, yet close to town: Palo Colorado Road is 11 miles south of Carmel on scenic Highway 1, and the cabin is only 1.4 miles from the highway. Easy to reach, but hard to leave!
